wasn't that long ago that some folks said cable companies
wouldn't be able to deliver fast, reliable, two-way digital
services over coaxial cable; today, over 15% of the homes in
some areas subscribe to Road Runner. Upgrading cable
systems to support Road Runner, however, is time-consuming
and expensive, costing over $75 million in
Charlotte-Mecklenburg alone.
If you can receive Time Warner Cable service
you can get Road Runner (unless you are in the Wadesboro division).
To find out for sure, just enter your zip code in the box at right.
One of the best things about Road Runner is that it is
available to all subscribers in the Time Warner Cable
systems that offer it. Other high-speed Internet services,
such as those based on ADSL, have numerous technological
limitations that prevent most people from receiving the
service even in areas in which it is offered. Nationwide,
Road Runner was available to over 10 million homes in 35
metropolitan areas at the beginning of 2000.
